SERVPRO Staff Continue to Make Difference in Community
10/4/2016 (Permalink)
While SERVPRO South Brevard is committed to serving its community through exemplary water and fire restoration service, we also want to serve our community in other ways. One of our staff members recently took part in a community event through the Melbourne Beach Rotary Club which was planned for such a purpose.
The Melbourne Beach Rotary Club is a part of Rotary, an international organization made up of professional business leaders. There are more than 1.2 million members, called rotarians, that reside in 160 countries and are a part of 30,000 clubs. These clubs meet up weekly with the objective of finding ways to serve their community. Going by the motto “Service Above Self,” these clubs organize community service projects that address major issues in society such as clean water, children at risk, poverty, hunger, illiteracy, and violence.
Recently the Melbourne Beach Rotary Club hosted an event to raise money for Candlelighters of Brevard. This organization exists to provide children with cancer a mental, physical and emotional release from their disease. Through programs and services such as Home Away From Home where family members of patients are put up for free to be by their loved one, the Utility Assistance Program designed to help pay the family’s utility bills, and the Angel Fund which provides a one-time financial donation to families that suffer the loss of a child, the organization is able to make the lives of child cancer patients and their families just a little bit easier.
To raise money for this noble cause, the Melbourne Beach Rotary Club held a golf tournament at Aquarina Golf Course in Melbourne Beach. Of all the proceeds received by the Rotary Club during the event, 75 percent went directly to the organization to aid them in running their programs. The donation by the Rotary Club will help Candlelighters of Brevard continue to help young cancer patients and their families with whatever program or service that they need during this difficult time.
SERVPRO Marketing Representative Heath Parks is a proud member of the Melbourne Beach Rotary Club. Following the ethos of SERVPRO, Heath does whatever he can to help the members of his community. In addition to being a volunteer firefighter, Heath also takes part in community events that are geared toward helping those within his community. One such event that he has taken part in was the golf tournament earlier this month. He’s one of a number of staff members who go out of their way to make a positive in their community.
Providing water, fire, and smoke restoration to those that have suffered such a fate in their homes, SERVPRO’s focus is to help the members of their community get through difficult times. But that’s not something that stays within the doors of the company. SERVPRO also encourages their staff to make a difference in their own community however they can. Heath’s commitment to his community is indicative of the culture that SERVPRO strives to create within the business and spread to their staff members.
SERVPRO South Brevard Opens New Facility
9/1/2016 (Permalink)
SERVPRO South Brevard continues to grow larger allowing us to further serve our community by restoring property and homes that have been damaged by water, flood, fire, mold, or some other type of disaster. Due to our extensive growth, we have been lucky enough to move into a new, larger location that is capable for satisfying our needs.
In celebration of our move, we held an open house on August 18, where we were fortunate enough to invite about 40 businesspeople to tour our new location. Visitors were welcomed to the location through the lobby of the facility where they were given an opportunity to win one of 14 different prizes through gift certificates that were solicited from local restaurants, hotels, and businesses. Attendees placed their business cards into a bowl from which the winners were drawn.
The new facility features a climate controlled clean room where professionals perform cleaning and restoration services. For the open house, SERVPRO South Brevard set up four stations where they displayed carpet cleaning, water and mold restoration, deodorizing, and a storage and chemical room. One or two technicians were available at each station to educate attendees of SERVPRO’s cleaning and restoration processes. Each visitor had a card which was marked as they visited each station. A visit to all four stations entered them in a grand prize drawing.
Two of the four stations that participants had the opportunity to visit were located in our warehouse. With this setup, members of our community were able to view our variety of equipment, storage units, and chemical room. By showing off the equipment we use to perform our cleaning and restoration services, we were able to show visitors the capabilities we have due to our use of technological advances.
Near the end of the evening, everyone gathered outside for the official ribbon cutting of the new facility. The ribbon cutting the SERVPRO South Brevard’s way of introducing their new facility to the public. It was an important announcement that we are now in the community and ready to serve our community better than ever before due to our enhanced facilities. Due to the negative impact that delaying restoration can have on the home and the survival of certain possessions, we want people to know that we’re here and they can trust us when they’re in need.
This open house was important to us for multiple reasons. It gave us the opportunity to announce our presence in the community. It also allowed us to inform the public about our services. Any type of damage to your home is devastating and waiting to restore could have catastrophic consequences. However, sometimes people are fearful if they don’t know the process being used to restore their home. The four stations, very popular among visitors, gave us the opportunity to explain how we restore and clean your home or possessions and why it’s important to restore and clean as soon as possible following damage.
The success and growth for SERVPRO South Brevard has allowed us to open a new facility at 2335 Aurora Road in Melbourne. This new facility will allow us to better serve our community with more room and more advanced equipment. If you suffer from water, fire, or mold damage and are in need of restoration, call on the trusted professionals at SERVPRO to restore your home.
